07.04.2021 Accountor expands its finance and accounting services with two strategic acquisitions and strengthens its position as a forerunner in the digitalisation of the industry Accountor has acquired the entire share capital of the e-invoicing company Apix Messaging Oy and 25 percent share of the invoice financing company Puro Finance Oy. “These are strategically significant acquisitions for us. Our customers will receive significantly more services and the acquisitions will bring a strong competitive advantage as a forerunner in digitalisation. Accountor wants to be a leading company both in digitalisation and in offering a vast array in the value chain,” says Accountor’s CEO Niklas Sonkin. Accountor, which focuses on financial and HR management services and software, acquired the entire share capital of the e-invoicing company Apix Messaging Oy and 25 percent of Puro Finance Oy, which focuses on invoice financing. With the acquisition of Apix, Accountor aims to become the largest e-invoicing company in Finland in terms of the number of customers. The Acquisition of Apix will significantly increase Accountor’s customer base, as the services now reach customers of software platforms other than Accountor’s own platforms. “With the acquisition, we will be able to offer a wider range of services to an even larger number of customers,” says Sonkin. The Finnish government’s VAT legislation is changing in the future. The tax administration plans to reform the VAT return so that it becomes document-specific. With Apix, Accountor can meet the demands of the change as a forerunner. Accountor’s implementation will enable the transactional VAT’s reporting to the tax administration directly from electronic invoices for companies of all sizes. Digitization, artificial intelligence, and robotics are breaking down fences Puro Finance provides invoice financing services to companies. Its technology and service platform are integrated into Accountor’s software. This offers Accountor’s customers an easy-to-use financing option. Banks have traditionally managed financial services, but new flexible, easy-to-use and cost-effective ways to manage cash flows have been introduced by other companies. Puro invoice financing is an excellent example of such ways to facilitate even small and short-term financing needs. Through the Apix and Puro Finance acquisitions, Accountor will also strengthen its position in the other Nordic countries. Accountor serves companies altogether in seven countries.
